How do organizations qualify for grants?
World of Good: Development Organization funds artisan communities that are already working with World of Good, Inc. In our artisan communities, we look for one-time donation opportunities to infrastructure projects that help improve the health and education of the entire artisan community. Most grants range from $500-$1500.
We fund work that:
- improves the lives of our artisan communities.
- is focused on health and education infrastructure projects.
- is a one-time donation.
We do not fund:
- projects that directly benefit the business and the production process (ie. new carving tools, foot looms). We cannot legally do this for tax purposes with our hybrid-model.
- projects with ongoing funding needs (ie. student scholarships, teacher’s salaries). We only support one time grants because our total grant distribution is based on the sales volume we achieve, so the overall dollar amount varies from year to year.
Examples of projects we have funded:
- purchasing the materials to complete construction of a school in partnership with Mercado Global in San Antonio, Guatemala.
- purchasing medical equipment to improve the medical programs of a free community clinic benefiting an artisan organization in Coimbatore, India.
