1. Part-time Development Professional and Grant Writer
World of Good: Development Organization is seeking an experienced development professional to assist in nurturing existing funding relationships, cultivating new relationships, and raising funds to help the organization achieve its mission and goals. This position will work very closely with the Executive Director in the following key areas:
- Assist in identification of new funders including foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Write grant proposals and RFP responses to existing and new funders
- Manage and complete on-line grant requests
- Prepare reports to funders
- Create and maintain a fund development plan and grant activities calendar
- Assist in other development activities as time and experience allow
- Planning fundraising events
- General support for the fundraising program
Position may also be responsible for:
- Conducting letter campaigns
- Assisting in fundraising events
- Newsletter & brochure production
- Updating donor database
Required Qualifications
- Experience and positive track record writing grants and reports to funders
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Energetic self-starter
- Superb attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong computer skills
Compensation:
- $20 - $25/hour depending on experience
Position Type:
- Part-time (Approximately 8-10 hours/week), Independent Contractor

Internship positions at World of Good Development Organization
1. Fair Wage Guide Fellowship (Asia, Africa, Latin America)
The Wage Guide Fellows program offers students, currently pursuing their graduate degrees, the exciting opportunity to travel abroad and work with fair trade craft artisans in the developing world. Fellows are placed with one fair trade exporting organization for four weeks (or longer) and will visit many different artisan cooperatives during their stint. They will build relationships with craft producers and assist them by training them on the Fair Wage Guide and helping them calculate their product costs. Previous fellows have worked with artisan groups in Kenya, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Peru, Bolivia and Guatemala. Read about their experiences on the Fair Wage Guide blog.
We help connect our fellows with our artisan partners and also provide an intensive training on the Fair Wage Guide project and the Fair Trade industry. We also work with our fellows to set project objectives and deliverables.
** The Wage Guide Fellowship position is an unpaid, volunteer based position. Previous fellows have received funding from their universities or have self-funded their trip.**
OBJECTIVES:
- Identify an consult with fair trade artisan partner on the Wage Guide project and work with the partner to organize all logistics
- Represent WOGDO to our partner organization and act as an ambassador for the Wage Guide project
- Visit and interview fair trade artisans � collect product costing data and input this data into the Wage Guide website
- Train artisans on proper costing techniques
- Collect feedback about how to improve the Wage Guide project
- Maintain an online journal of your experiences - www.worldofgood.org/blog
- Record all success stories and testimonials regarding the Wage Guide
- Write a report at the end of your trip that details your recommendations on how we can improve the project and reach more artisans
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate school program or in the process of applying (Business, International Studies, Economics, Foreign Service or other appropriate programs)
- Must commit to at least four weeks in the field
- Needs to fund travel and living arrangements (self funding, grants, fellowships ect)
- Needs to have prior travel experience
- Must commit to the Wage Guide fellowship, full-time, for the length of the fellowship
- Knowledge of fair trade a plus...passion for fair trade a must!

2. Special Projects and Administrative Support
- Ideal for a college student looking to gain work experience with a small nonprofit.
- Program and administrative assistance for Fair Trade Wage Guide Project and Economic Development Projects.
- Special projects as assigned (ie. Research, outreach to artisan groups, newsletter).
- Opportunity to work closely with our staff on the most-pressing issues for our organization.

Requirements
- A 3-month (quarter) commitment of 12-15 hours/wk during office hours
- Strong interest in fair trade and international development
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
